Medical Consultation Recommendations

When to Consult Your Healthcare Provider

At Juice Lab, your health and safety are our top priorities. While our organic cold-pressed juices and cleanses can be a wonderful addition to a healthy lifestyle for many people, certain individuals should consult with a qualified healthcare professional before using our products.

⚠️ You MUST Consult Your Doctor Before Using Our Products If You:

Are Pregnant or Planning to Become Pregnant

DO NOT use our products if you are pregnant without first consulting your healthcare provider.

Why this is important:

  • Unpasteurized Products: Our juices are raw and unpasteurized, which may contain harmful bacteria (Listeria, E. coli, Salmonella) that can cause serious complications during pregnancy including miscarriage, stillbirth, or severe illness in newborns
  • Nutritional Needs: Pregnancy requires complete, balanced nutrition - restrictive cleanse programs do not provide adequate calories, protein, or essential nutrients needed for fetal development
  • Detoxification: Detox programs may release stored toxins that could potentially harm a developing baby
  • Blood Sugar: Juice cleanses can affect blood sugar levels, which is particularly concerning during pregnancy

What to do instead:

  • Consult your OB/GYN or midwife before consuming any unpasteurized products
  • Choose pasteurized juices during pregnancy
  • Focus on whole fruits and vegetables in their natural form
  • Follow your healthcare provider's nutritional guidance for pregnancy

Are Breastfeeding

Consult your healthcare provider before using our cleanse programs if you are breastfeeding.

Why this is important:

  • Nutritional Demands: Breastfeeding requires additional calories and nutrients - cleanse programs may not provide adequate nutrition for milk production
  • Milk Supply: Restrictive diets can negatively impact milk supply
  • Detoxification: Toxins released during cleansing may pass into breast milk
  • Hydration: While our juices are hydrating, breastfeeding mothers need comprehensive nutrition, not just liquids
  • Unpasteurized Risk: While less risky than during pregnancy, unpasteurized products still pose some risk

What to do instead:

  • Discuss with your healthcare provider or lactation consultant
  • Wait until you've finished breastfeeding to do a cleanse program
  • Individual juices (not full cleanses) may be acceptable - ask your doctor
  • Focus on whole, nutritious foods to support milk production
